Last night, Fat Elvis Recording artist Fantastic Negritowon the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album. I couldn’t be more excited for him and his team at Blackball Universe. With no major label support they relied on hard work and perseverance to make it happen.
Although Fat Elvis Records had nothing to do with The Last Days of Oakland, it was an absolute thrill to have been evolved with the two(!) vinyl releases leading up to the Grammy Winning album..
Congratulations to Xavier, Field, Malcolm, Phil, Matt, and the rest of Blackball Universe on your outstanding accomplishment!
If you have been keeping track, you will notice that we are in for one busy summer! This is the third of three releases we have scheduled for the next few weeks. We are thrilled to be working with Fantastic Negrito for a second time.

“…the sound of American Goon , it’s like The MC5 meet up with Skynyrd doing glam , I can’t recall anyone blasting like this , the debut track “Blood Eagle” will blow you away , it’s most excellent. LOVE IT!!!!”
